Principal’s Message

It has been a great first week of school.  Students have been making new friends, building connections with staff, and in general seems like they have been having a lot of fun!

Open House will be on September 11, 2025 from 6:00-7:30.  Open House is a time to welcome families into our classrooms to meet the teachers and have students serve as building guides.   This is an evening dedicated to meeting staff and showcasing what your student is working on at Gates!  Student work and name activities will be on display along with some books we have been reading.  This is a fluid evening without a formal introduction. You may come anytime between 6:00-7:15, as our evening will end at 7:30.

Finally, a big thank you to all for your patience this week as we get used to our arrival and dismissal procedures. Every day has been a little bit better :).

Have a great long weekend!
Allison

Message from the Health Office

Below are a few reminders from the health office:

1) Please be sure your contact info in Power School is current and email addresses are those that you check regularly.  Except in emergencies, I will often contact families via email with non-urgent updates or questions.

2) Please have a plan in place for pick up within 30-45 minutes if your child needs to be dismissed. The Gates health office is not set up as an infirmary and can become extremely busy at times.

3) Please be sure to apply sunscreen and insect repellent at home. These cannot be applied at school.

4) Please keep me updated regarding your child's health. If there are changes, the more information I have, the better the care I can provide.

As always, you can refer to the Health and Nursing site on the AB website to get information about different health topics, FAQ's, forms and contact information. Please feel free to contact me with any questions.

Warmly,

Megan Lenkauskas, BSN, RN

Student Technology Reminder
I would like to take this opportunity to remind you that both the Elementary School Handbook and ABRSD School Committee Policy indicate that cell phones, smart watches and any personal technology device that connects to the internet, and/or can capture video or audio are not permitted in the ABRSD elementary schools. Rest assured that every room in our building contains a landline which can be used to directly call out and that the office staff maintain current caregiver contact information. We will be able to reach you when/if your child needs you.
